Iso-pressed MGO Crucibles

Almath has recently added isostatic pressing to our manufacturing capability. This production method is ideally suited to manufacturing MgO crucible and components, because it avoids the hydration of the MgO material.

The excellent density distribution that is characteristic of isostatic pressing makes it ideal for forming large crucibles and components. Almath can now produce, large crucibles (up to 270 mm tall and 200 mm wide), thick walled crucibles (up to 20 mm thick), and high aspect ratio (up to 2.5). We are able to manufacture any of our standard crucibles through isostatic pressing, which can be found in our size chart section. In addition, Almath regularly manufactures bespoke crucibles to customer drawing. Simply contact us with your requirements.

Pressed Magnesium Oxide

Our magnesium oxide crucibles contain yttria, which is inert and is equivalent to magnesium oxide in all applications. They are high purity (99.2% MgO+Y2O3), and contain low levels of impurities. All of our crucibles are fully dense, and have an excellent interior surface finish. Both of these factors make them ideal for preventing contamination of your product.

Typical
Applications

Magnesium oxide crucibles are an excellent alternative to alumina crucibles. The are particularly suited to processing alkali materials due to their lower reactivity. Typical applications include:
